1 in 5 Canadian children is at risk of starting the school day on an empty stomach. Our breakfast programs at Riverview East School and West Riverview School ensure that over 100 children every day have the nutrition they need to focus, learn, and grow.
Through Raise the Grade tutoring, homework help in our after-school programs, and hands-on learning in our Tech Lab, we support diverse learning styles and help young people build skills for academic success and career readiness.
We provide summer employment opportunities, student placements, and youth council leadership roles. Young people gain real-world experience in child and youth care, event management, and community engagement.
Through partnerships with local schools, the Rotary Club, Breakfast Clubs of Canada, and community organizations, we connect youth to the wider world and teach the value of civic participation.
BGC Riverview is more than a building — it's a safe environment where positive adult mentorship, structured activities, and measurable outcomes come together to help every child reach their potential.
We support young people in discovering their passions, amplifying their voice, encouraging problem-solving, and fostering the confidence to be agents of positive change in their community.
"When you put that bowl of cereal or you put that toast on the counter, and this small five year old looks up at you as if you've just given them the best Christmas present, that's an impactful moment that's going to stay with you for a very long time."
— Lynda Carey, Executive Director
Every donation, volunteer hour, and partnership helps us reach more children and youth in our community.
