Your Child's Safety
The safety and well-being of every child and youth in our care is our absolute highest priority. Here's how we protect your family.
Every staff member and volunteer undergoes a mandatory criminal record check before working with children. This is a non-negotiable requirement for all positions.
All program staff are certified in First Aid and CPR, ensuring they can respond quickly and effectively in any emergency situation.
We follow the Canadian Centre for Child Protection's Commit To Kids program — a comprehensive child sexual abuse prevention strategy for youth-serving organizations.
Our After School Adventure Camp is a licensed childcare program that meets all Department of Education and Early Childhood Development operating standards.
Staff receive regular professional development in child safety, positive behaviour guidance, trauma-informed care, and age-appropriate programming.
We maintain child-to-staff ratios that meet or exceed provincial requirements, ensuring every child receives appropriate supervision and attention.
Our facility at 50 Runneymeade Road is maintained to the highest safety standards with secure entry, regular inspections, and age-appropriate equipment.
We comply with PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and treat all client information with the strictest confidentiality.
BGC Riverview operates under a comprehensive framework of safety standards that includes both national guidelines from BGC Canada and provincial regulations from New Brunswick's Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
Our programming is informed by the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets — a research-based framework of experiences and qualities that help young people grow up healthy, caring, and responsible. We also follow the BGC Canada Model for Success, which provides evidence-based program design and quality assurance.
As an affiliate of BGC Canada, we undergo regular peer reviews and participate in national quality improvement initiatives, ensuring our programs meet the highest standards in the country.
If you have any safety concerns or questions about our child protection policies, please don't hesitate to reach out. We take every concern seriously.
