Programs

What programs do you offer?

We offer six programs: After School Adventure Camp (ages 5-12), Drop-In Teen Centre (ages 11-17), Breakfast Programs (all school ages, free), Power Hour (Grades 1-5), Raise the Grade tutoring (teens, free), and Summer Camp (ages 5-12).

What ages do you serve?

Our programs serve children and youth from ages 5 to 17. We also provide mentoring for young adults through our Raise the Grade program.

What are the program hours?

After School Adventure Camp: Mon-Fri 1:30-6:00 PM. Drop-In Regular: 2:45-5:45 PM, After Hours: 6:00-9:00 PM. Breakfast: 7:45-8:15 AM. Power Hour: Lunch period. Summer Camp: Full days during summer break.

Do you offer school pickup?

Yes! The After School Adventure Camp picks up children from Claude D. Taylor, Frank L. Bowser, Riverview Middle School, West Riverview, and Riverview East schools.

Safety

Is BGC Riverview a licensed facility?

Yes. Our After School Adventure Camp is a licensed childcare program that meets all Department of Education and Early Childhood Development operating standards.

Do staff have background checks?

Absolutely. Every staff member and volunteer undergoes a mandatory criminal record check before working with children.

Are staff trained in First Aid?

Yes. All program staff are certified in First Aid and CPR.

What safety programs do you follow?

We follow the BGC Canada Model for Success, the Search Institute's 40 Developmental Assets framework, and the Canadian Centre for Child Protection's Commit To Kids program.

Payment & Registration

How much does it cost?

Costs vary by program: After School Camp $105/week, Drop-In $25/year, Breakfast Programs free, Power Hour $10 per session, Raise the Grade free, Summer Camp $140/week. Sibling discounts available.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, cheque, e-transfer, and credit card. Contact our office at (506) 387-7070 for details.

Is financial assistance available?

We believe no child should be turned away due to inability to pay. Contact us confidentially at (506) 387-7070 to discuss options.

Volunteering

How can I volunteer?

Visit our Volunteer page to learn about opportunities including program support, breakfast program help, event volunteering, and board membership.

What are the volunteer requirements?

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and undergo a criminal record check. We provide orientation and training for all new volunteers.

How much time do I need to commit?

It depends on the role. Some positions (like breakfast program) require regular weekly commitment, while event volunteering is seasonal. We work with your schedule.

Donations

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes! BGC Riverview is a registered Canadian charity (CRA #894505668RR0001). Tax receipts are issued for all donations of $20 or more.

Can I set up monthly giving?

Yes, we welcome monthly donations. Contact our office to set up a recurring giving schedule.

Can I donate goods instead of money?

Absolutely. Gifts-in-kind including sports equipment, office supplies, food items, and more are gratefully accepted. Contact us for details.
